Machu Picchu | PERU

Machu Picchu (recitation: Maçu Piççu or Maçu Piçu,  Quail language: Machu Pikchu) [ is an ancient city of Inca that has survived so far.  It was selected as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World on July 7, 2007.It is located on the top of a mountain of the Andes, at an altitude of 2,430 m, on the Urubamba Valley, 88 km from Cusco, Peru. The city was built around 1450 by Pachacutec Yupanqui, an Incan monarch. While the Spanish invaders occupied here in 1532, this city, which was frequently among the mountains, was not noticed by the invaders and was not damaged in this way. The city had to be abandoned due to the epidemic of smallpox spreading shortly after the construction of the city was completed. Machu Picchu consists of a stone structure connected by more than 200 ladder systems. The 3000 steps of the city are still very good today. It is believed that the special stones used in the construction of the city were carried from the valley to the summit with the rail rope system. There is also a 2720-meter high mountain named Huayna Picchu right next to it. The pathway leading to this mountain is in the form of a secret passage that cannot be seen when viewed from Machu Picchu, and the climb takes about 2 hours. From the summit of Huayna Picchu, it is possible to observe the entire Machu Picchu city and the environment in 360 degrees. The purpose and meaning of its establishment is the subject of debate that has come to date. Since there are not many clues with scientific evidence that has managed to survive, only predictions can be made. That's why the city, whose name was unknown at that time, got its name from a mountain peak that is nearby today. The parts of the city, which consist of terraces used as agricultural areas, are on the skirts of the mountain called Old Summit (in the language of Kuvua: Machu Picchu). At the end of the city, the Young Summit (in the Tongue language: Wayna Picchu) rises.
