Sagano Bamboo Forest (Kyoto, Japan)




A 500-meter hiking trail welcomes visitors to the bamboo forest.  You can take a pleasant walk and take pictures of the bamboo and forest with the sound reflected by the wind while reaching you through the bamboo in the lush environment where the sun tries to reach you through the bamboo in the wide walking track.

Bamboo tree is a 1000 different tree species mostly found in America, Asia and Africa.  As it is a hard-growing species, it is grown in China with great devotion.  The thickness of the bamboo tree is 80 cm and the height is 33 meters.  As a result of the atomic bomb dropped on Japan in the 2nd World War, it is clear how durable it is as it is the only tree standing in Japan.


Located within an area of ​​16 km2, 10 km west of Kyoto, Japan, the Sagano Bamboo forest not only captivates those who see it, but it almost absorbs it.  It is impossible for people not to lose themselves in the eye-catching beauty of the forest.  Even though Arashiyama is a popular place with its original cherry blossom trees and the fall of nature in different colors, Sagano Bamboo Forest also attracts visitors.
